MAI FUNDS
Awarded using a formula based on the distribution of living HIV/AIDS cases among racial and ethnic minorities.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS
These are competitive awards based on demonstrated need and other factors.

Each year Congress approves different amounts of funds for Ryan White programs, including Part A which is then divided into formula and supplemental funds.
Who's Who in the Part A Program and What They Do
Provide outpatient or ambulatory family-centered primary medical care for women, infants, children, and youth with HIV/AIDS.
Part D funds (1) family-centered primary and specialty medical care and (2) support services.
QUICK FACTS
Provides assistance to Eligible Metropolitan Areas (EMAs) and Transitional Grant Areas (TGAs)—locales that are most severely affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Provides grants to States and U.S. Territories. Part B grants include a base grant, the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) award, ADAP supplemental grants, grants to States for Emerging Communities, and an award for Minority AIDS Initiative activities.
